Luanda - The Angolan National Football Team will participate in the Cosafa Cup with 16 players from the diaspora, out of the 23 called up for the competition, taking place from 14 to 25 June, in the same country, unlike the 2023 edition in South Africa.
The list released on Tuesday in Luanda Province, by coach Pedro Gonçalves, represents an innovation compared to previous editions, in which Angola was represented by more players from the first division National Championship also dubbed Girabola.
The squad includes goalkeepers Edmilson Cambila who plays in Estrela Amadora Portugal club, Landu Langanga from Sagrada Esperança and Francisco Mangala ‘Gelson’ (Interclube).

The midfielders are António Muanza ‘Maestro’ (Adana DemisporTurkey), Domingos Andrade (Felgueiras Portugal), Joseph Nduquidi (Metz France), Keliano Manuel (Estrela Amadora Portugal), Mauro Simão ‘Maya’ (Petro de Luanda) and Pedro Agostinho (Desportivo da Lunda Sul).
Bernardo Conceição ‘Berna’ (Boavista Portugal), Hermenegildo Sengue ‘Picas’ (Feirense Portugal), Laurindo Aurélio Depú (Gil Vicente Portugal), Mankoka Afonso ‘Benarfa’ (Kabuscorp do Palanca), Pedro Muteba (1860 Munchen Germany) and Valdemiro Domingos ‘Miro’ (Gil Vicente Portugal), are the strikers.
At the 2023 edition in South Africa, Angola finished second in the group stage with four (4) points. Zambia are the holders of the trophy.
