Luanda - The senior female handball teams of Petro de Luanda and 1º de Agosto, both from Angola, ended Wednesday undefeated the regular phase of the African Champion Clubs Cup, which is taking place in the coastal city of Hammamet, Tunisia.
In Group A, Petro de Luanda coached by Vivaldo Eduardo, beat this Wednesday, in the fifth and last round, the FAP of Cameroon team by 33-20. By half time Petro de Luanda were winning 18-10.
1º de Agosto, coached by José Chuma, beat Congo´s DGSP by 28-19, in a B series match.
With these results, Petro de Luanda finished leading Group A with 10 points, while 1º de Agosto have eight points.
For the quarter-finals, Petro de Luanda will face Cameroon´s TKC on Thursday, at 3 p.m, while 1º de Agosto will play Algeria´s El Biar at 5 p.m.
This continental club competition is dominated by Angolan teams. Petro de Luanda have 19 titles, while 1º de Agosto have six.
1º de Agosto hold the African title.
