Luanda - The 31st edition of the African senior men's basketball championship "Afrobasket", which Angola will host in 2025, is budgeted at USD 3 million, said Saturday in Luanda Province the chairman of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Moniz Silva.
The official who was speaking at the presentation of the competition, informed that half of the amount will go to the federation and the other to the event's organising committee.
The competition will take place in the provinces of Luanda, Huíla and Namibe, although the last two are still awaiting authorisation from International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in Africa.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the Angolan minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, the president of FIBA Africa, Aníbal Manave, and the
organisation 's secretary general, Alphonse Bilé.
However, it will be the fourth time that Angola will host Afrobasket, after the 1989 editions in Luanda, 1999 (Luanda) and 2007 (Luanda, Benguela, Huíla and Cabinda).
