Chinguar - The MOSAP III project starts on December 15 this year with a financial capital of around US$300 million, to initially finance projects in 13 provinces of the country.
Speaking recently in the municipality of Chinguar (Bié), the project manager at the World Bank level, Aniceto Bila, said that all conditions have been created for the start of this third phase.
The intention is to continue to support the promotion of family farming.
This support will be through field schools and other initiatives that allow the reduction of imports in a short period of time.
The municipal administrator of Chingar, Ângela Ucueianga, defended the increase of more actions to strengthen the productive sector in the country, especially in this region.
At the end of 2021, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Francisco de Assis, announced in Cuito, province of Bié, that the MOSAP project would continue,
covering the 18 provinces of Angola.
He said that the Angolan Executive plans to extend the project to 2022, in view of good results it has produced, especially in reducing hunger and poverty among the populations.
MOSAP III aims to assist more than 300,000 families from 13 provinces in the country.
Named the Family Agriculture and Marketing Development Project, MOSAP II began in 2016 and set to end on December 31 of this year.
Among other results, it obtained an increase in the production capacity and technical training of the peasants, leading to an increase in production and marketing levels from 17 to 57 percent.
During its implementation, it benefited around 150,000 families, whose financing
was estimated at US$95 million, of which 70 million were provided by the World Bank and 25 by the Government of Angola.
