Luanda – At least 500 million kwanzas were invested by the cement company Cimenfort this year, in research, development and production lines for the agricultural segment.
According to a press release, ANGOP had access to on Saturday, the amount was invested in the acquisition of an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer and another refraction spectrometer, from Germany, for a modern analysis laboratory in Angola.
Still in this segment, Cimenfort, in partnership with the company Carrinho, began to promote and professionalize agriculture in Angola, through the development and distribution of agricultural limestone and calcite gypsum.
The collaboration aims to support more than 10,000 producing families across the provinces and with this, develop the production of grains, legumes and vegetables in Angola.
According to Walter Júnior, from Cimenfort, the partnership with Carrinho's agronomists and professionals will help Angolan farmers to improve and increase their plantations, with a view to contributing to the country's food self-sufficiency.
“The initiative reinforces Cimenfort and Carrinho’s commitment to promoting sustainability and agricultural development, strengthening the rural economy and ensuring a more prosperous future for Angola’s agricultural sector”, he said.
Agricultural limestone (terrafort) and calcitic gypsum (gessofort) help to improve soil structure, providing more efficiency in planning, which facilitates root growth, absorption of water and nutrients, and comfort, ideal conditions for crop development.
Cimenfort is a cement manufacturer in Angola and was created in 2012 with a commitment to rebuild the country. The company's headquarters are in the province of Benguela.
The company generates 225 direct jobs and another 500 indirect jobs.
