Icolo and Bengo – Businesspeople and farmers in the municipalities of Icolo-Bengo and Quiçama will benefit from more legal issues and material support from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the vice-chairman of the association, Bernardino Gaspar, has said in an interview to ANGOP.
According to the source, who spoke at the end of a meeting with businesspeople and farmers, as soon as the municipality of Icolo e Bengo undergoes the announced administrative transformation into the category of province, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Icolo e Bengo hopes that in 2025 the institution will be more united and connected to its associates, helping them with everything necessary.
The support provided includes assistance in the legalization of agricultural spaces, the resolution of administrative conflicts and the delivery of agricultural inputs to peasants and farmers.
Bernardino Gaspar noted that it is necessary to adopt new assessment strategies, aligned with the new politico-administrative division, with the aim to meet the interests of businesspeople and alleviate their difficulties, especially in acquiring documents, credits and agricultural inputs.
To him, the emergence of the government program “Simplifica” has been a valuable means that has significantly reduced the bureaucracy recorded in previous years, whenever it came to documents.
CCI in Icolo and Bengo will also create networking with businesspeople in 2025 to promote their business activity.
In turn, Domingos António Francisco, general secretary of the CCI, reported that he used to see a large number of notifications from administration supervisors to businesspeople, which has caused them some discomfort.
However, he said that through the mediation of the CCI, together with related institutions, there has been satisfactory resolution of numerous issues since 2018.
“We have complaints from businesspeople for having been notified several times with high amounts, beyond their reach to settle”, he said, clarifying on the other hand that administrations have handled these issues responsibly, offering several options for resolving concerns or even lowering the amount of the fine.
The companies that present the most problems are those linked to the area of commerce, food and inert materials exploration.
Founded in February 2018, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Icolo and Bengo controls 300 entrepreneurs in the two municipalities and since then, its members have faced bureaucracy, especially in the legalization of agricultural spaces and the acquisition of bank credits.
